The new “kind-of” musical is a show for Filipinas, by a Filipina, with aims to empower our community, connect our struggles, and ground us in a foundation of care.

BREAKING! Performing Filipina was selected as this year’s Michael Friedman Award winner for New Composition in the 2025 Pipeline Arts Foundation Awards for New Musical Theater. With this award, Performing Filipina also receives a cash prize of $25,000 to support the development of the new “kind-of” musical. Happy AAPI month, and a big thank you to our recent donors! 🎉🎉🎉 We have an exciting update! PERFORMING FILIPINA has made it to the Finalist round for the 2025 @pipelineartsfoundation Awards for New Musical Theater! Out of 300 submissions and 34 semifinalists, PERFORMING FILIPINA was one of 13 musicals chosen to advance to the final round of this year’s awards.
